Svanhovd Conference centre is located in the heart of the Pasvik valley, in East-Finnmark, and is a beautiful and exotic place for conferences, meetings and private accommodation. We serve our guests from buffet including locally produced foods, and as our guests you have free access to the Øvre Pasvik National Park Visitor Centre, Svanhovd Botanical Garden, sauna and the arctic wilderness.

Airplane: Tow hours on the plain from Oslo Gardermoen to Høybuktmoen airport (Kirkenes).
Car: It is 40 minutes drive (40 km) to Svanhovd, south of Kirkenes (road 885)

Øvre Pasvik National Park Visitor Centre
Svanhovd is the authorized Visitor Centre for the Øvre Pasvik National Park and serves as an information centre for the National Park and other protected areas in the region. Through films and exhibitions we present the nature, culture and history of the Pasvik Valley. In the exhibitions you can meet brown bear, lynx, muskrat, great grey owl - and many other species typical for the area. The Visitor Centre is open daily in June, July and August and at weekdays from September to May.

Svanhovd Botanical Garden
Svanhovd Botanical Garden turns Svanhovd into a flowering oasis during the summer months with over 350 different types of plants planted. In this spectacular oasis at 69°N, there are more than 450 perennials, bushes, trees and roses of northern and alpine origin. The best time to visit the garden is July and August.
Bioforsk Soil and Environment, Svanhovd
Svanhovd is one of the research stations belonging to the Norwegian Institute of Agricultural- and Environmental research -Bioforsk. Bioforsk Soil and Environment, Svanhovd work with issues related to nature resources, protected areas, biological diversity and environmental research in the Barents Region. Bioforsk Svanhovd has the national responsibility for genetic monitoring of brown bear in Norway.
Svanhovd Conference Centre lies in scenic and peaceful surroundings located in the middle of the Pasvik Valley.
Our good atmosphere creates an inspiring meeting place for courses and conferences, and a comfortable accommodation for the visitors.
Conference Centre offers three different rooms for the meetings, courses and conferences; Two meeting rooms with space for 10 and 30 people, which has panoramic view of Svanhovd`s beautiful surroundings. Auditorium with a capacity for 80 people with modern and traditional equipment for the presentations in addition to simultaneous translation.
The Conference Centre has a capacity to accommodate 50 guests in single-and double room (photo).
We also rent out a lovely Norwegian storehouse on pillars, which is converted into a cottage with accommodation for 4 guests.
Good local food and drink are an important part of the staying in Svanhovd. All meals are served from a large buffet, where among other things it is possible to get a taste of local specialties.
Our guests are free to use Svanhovd`s cosy living room with a fireplace (photo), TV-room, sauna and laundry room.
From our winter garden it is possible to experience the beautiful nature phenomenon such as the northern lights in winter and midnight sun in summer.
All of our overnight guests have access to Svanhovd`s Øvre Pasvik National Park Visitor Centre. In the exhibition, you can become acquainted with characteristic bird and animal species found here, geology, as well as the border history and cultural developments of the region.
